Pune: The Maverick team from Pune Vidyarthi Griha’s College of Engineering, Technology and Management has achieved a landmark victory at SUPRA SAEINDIA 2025, the national-level engineering design competition organized by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE).
The team claimed the top position across India, outperforming IITs, NITs, and other premier institutions.
First Rank for PVG at SUPRA SAEINDIA 2025
Held between August 13 and 16, 2025, in Noida, New Delhi, the prestigious competition saw participation from leading technical institutes nationwide.

PVG’s 28-member Maverick team from the Mechanical Engineering Department designed and built their racing car ‘Avira,’ integrating advanced technology and collaborative expertise across multiple engineering departments. Their achievement marked a historic first-rank finish at the national level.
Awards and Recognition at SUPRA SAEINDIA 2025
The PVG team won five awards, including the first prize with a cash award of ₹2 lakh. Additional recognition included:
- Winner of the Acceleration Event (₹25,000)
- Winner of the Skidpad Event (₹25,000)
- Runner-up in the Endurance Event (₹20,000)
Students received certificates, mementos, and accolades for their performance. Team mentor Prof Mahesh Kamble was also honored with the prestigious Dronacharya Award for his outstanding guidance.

Consistent Performance Leading to SUPRA SAEINDIA 2025 Victory
Over the years, PVG’s team has steadily climbed the national rankings—securing third place in 2022, second place in 2023 and 2024, before finally achieving first place in SUPRA SAEINDIA 2025.
